SEASHORE LIBRARY

Architect : Vector Architects

Located in China , this seashore library is a fully cast concrete building located on a beach. The main space of the building opens towards the ocean taking advantage of the ventilation from the breeze to ventilate the building. Primarily made out of concrete, the building gives out a monolithic feeling to it

The thing that  I had found interesting is way the main space is arrange where it is a double volumed space.

TETON COUNTY CHILDREN LEARNING CENTRE
CHURCHILL INTERGENERATIONAL HUB
WHATNEY MARKET IDEA STORE
TETRIS APARTMENTS

Architect: Bissets Adams

Architect:OFIS arhitekti

This learning centre is quite interesting in the way they arrange the classroom to open into a seating space in the corridor ( above). This allows interaction between the students from different classes.

I particularly like the overall form of the building where the pitched roofs creates a rustic effect blending around with the surrounding.

This hub is quite interesting in terms of it form where it looks like a crumpled paper from the outside. I was rather interested in the plan where it does not conform to a gridlike plan but more arbitary in terms of its arrangments.

The idea store is quite simple in its form. However the way that the architect has arrange the circulation route creates more spaces for activity to conducted. In this building, it is houses computer clusters and learning areas but also library for the visitor.

I was interested in the way the building looks where it feels like it is made out of pods but actually its a single building.

The way that the architect did it was to create balcony like extensions on the facade and pushing it from side to side to create the tetris effect.
